Do you have a few hours to spare?
You could do your bit to be greener, bolster your CV, get outside in the fresh air, have fun and meet new people by volunteering for Transition Heriot-Watt.
We’re looking for sustainability engagement volunteers to support us and the University’s Estates Services across recycling, sustainable transport, food waste and energy.
We only need volunteers on an adhoc basis, but do offer vouchers* as a wee thank you!
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Liftshare Week Engagement – 2nd – 6th Oct 2017
As part of our Sustainable Travel project we are trying to engage staff and students who drive to the campus to consider car-sharing their journeys. Whether sharing a one-off journey or a regular commute, car-sharing can make a big impact in reducing carbon emissions and pollution.
We are looking for students willing to talk to campus car users about Liftshare and to give out information on how they can try it. You will be given training, will be working in pairs and all equipment such as high-vis vests and materials will be provided.
When: Volunteers are needed for a number of shifts from Mon 2nd Oct – Fri 6th Oct. These will be mornings from 8-9.30am. You can do as many as you like from (1 – 5 shifts) but you must be able to stay for the full 1.5 hours.
Where: Various campus carparks
As a thank you for your time there will be a £15 gift voucher for each full shift you complete – and remember you can log your volunteer hours with the Student Union!
