BATTERIES

Although small, batteries are hazardous if they enter the normal waste or recycling waste stream.

So please make sure only to put them in the designated recycling boxes

There are 4 battery recycling boxes on our campus:

  • Leonard Horner hall (next to the housekeeper’s office)
  • Outside the student union shop (next to the green recycle and reward machine)
  • PC centre cafe
  • Anna Macleod Hall (the lounge)

If the boxes are full, please let us know so we can have them picked up. Alternatively, you can take your old batteries to your local supermarket who will have their battery collection points.

ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

If you have any broken electrical appliances, please do not dispose them in the general waste bin.

Contact your housekeeper who will be able to advise you on how to properly discard your electrical appliances

You can find all of these information on the ‘WHAT GOES WHERE’ guide.
