Repair your electronics

They say if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but there’s another side to that coin: if it is broke, do!

There are 2 things about electronic equipment when it stops working. First, it’s quite hard to recycle, and it can take a lot of resources to process before what’s left ends up in landfill.

The second point, though, might surprise you: currently, only 7% of the electronic equipment which is collected at household waste recycling centres is reused. But with a small amount of repair and refurbishment, this could increase to 23%!

In other words, getting a minor repair often means you get an item that works again, so you don’t need to buy a replacement – you prevent waste and save yourself cash, so what’s not to like?

*Remade Repair Sessions are back!*

Just to be clear, they can’t help you with electrical goods like irons, food processors, radios, hair straighteners etc, and they don’t teach people how to use software – it’s still a great free service though!

You won’t have to pay anything for the session, but if repairs are needed there may be a charge for replacement parts.
